Customer Review: Broken - Fixed to Functional

We recieved this as a wedding gift. I wanted it very much for my cookbooks and a few pans; the "bronzed" finish would be great in my kitchen. The product was received with a broken hinge and the "bronze" finish is actually smeary brownish paint. I can see the brush strokes. My husband is going to weld the hinge so we can actually use it. The reasons we aren't returning it is the basic form is fine and it would be more hassle than it is worth to return it. We will probably re-paint it ourselves. Update 10/11/09 = Well, the hinge was fixed and it was repainted. It is hanging in the kitchen and looks very nice after the work we put into it. Now I have gone to actually hang pans up; the hooks show as attached to the back of the frame that is flush against the wall. Obviously it can't work like that if you want the shelf level. We have attached the hooks to the front of the frame, whih means we can't stagger the placement of the pans to make more room. Only about four smaller pans can be accomodated.
